4th Six Weeks Assembly


Each Six Weeks at WJH we like to take time to recognize our students in various areas of achievement. Parents are invited to attend and help encourage our students.
AWARDS DESCRIPTIONS
Honor Roll Awards
Distinguished Honor Roll - No grade less than 90; Recognized each six weeks at the Six Weeks Award Assembly. A student must make no grade lower than 90 for 5 six weeks periods to be recognized for the Distinguished Honor Roll Award at the Awards of Excellence Ceremony in May.
A/BHonor Roll - No grade less than 80. Recognized each six weeks at the Six Weeks Award Assembly.

Perfect Attendance Awards
Perfect Attendance - Counted present each day during 2nd period. (ADA accounting period). Excused doctor appointments do not count against perfect attendance. Recognized each six weeks at the Six Weeks Award Assembly for a 7th and 8th grade student. Perfect Attendance Award - A student who is present each day during 2nd period through the end of the 5th six weeks will earn the Perfect Attendance Award at the Awards of Excellence Ceremony in May.

Outstanding Student Awards
Teachers may choose to recognize students that have demonstrated excellence in some form in their classes. Awards may be presented by elective teachers or by academic departments, (math, English, science, social studies, reading). These awards are given at the discretion of the teachers and may not be awarded every year. These awards are presented at the Awards of Excellence Ceremony in May.

Citizenship Awards
Winners of these awards are students that exemplify the model WJHS student. They consistently demonstrate respect for peers, teachers, administrators, and other staff and are proud of their school. They are involved, always willing to help and are highly responsible citizens of the school community. Award winners are nominated and voted on by faculty. This award is presented at each Six Weeks Award Assembly to one boy and one girl from the each grade.

Achievement Award
Winners of this award have demonstrated significant improvement over a period of at least six weeks. Improvement may be in grades, behavior or both. Award winners are nominated and voted on by faculty. This award is presented at each Six Weeks Award Assembly to one boy and one girl from the each grade.

Tiger Pride Leadership Award
Winners of this award have demonstrated outstanding leadership in some form. Leadership can be demonstrated in many ways: team leadership, classroom leadership, club leadership, project leadership, leader among peers. The winner of this award is perceived as a leader not only by teachers and staff, but also by his or her peers. Award winners are nominated and voted on by faculty. This award is presented at each Six Weeks Award Assembly to one boy and one girl from the each grade.

Eye of the Tiger Award
The winners of these awards are the boy and the girl with the highest grade point average for all classes each six weeks. The grade point calculation starts over each six weeks. This award is presented at each Six Weeks Award Assembly to one boy and one girl from the each grade.
